Abdessamad Ait El Cadi

Dr. Abdessamad Ait El Cadi is an Associate Professor at Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF) and a researcher at the LAMIH laboratory (CNRS UMR 8201) and INSA Hauts-de-France. He holds an Engineer's degree from École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC), an M.Sc. in Engineering (2003), and a Ph.D. in Operations Research (2010) from École Polytechnique de Montréal, where his doctoral thesis focused on trajectory planning for UAV fleets. His research interests span operations research, logistics and supply chain management, production scheduling (including stochastic and hybrid approaches), digital twins, and machine learning applications in manufacturing. He has published extensively in recent years, with notable papers on ML/DL in automotive manufacturing (2025), vibration-based fault detection (2024), stochastic job-shop scheduling using genetic algorithms (2023), parking occupancy forecasting (2023), and digital twin modeling for warehouses (2023). He is an active member of professional organizations including ROADEF, GDR-RO, and the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), and currently serves as chief editor for a special issue on transforming circular industrial and logistics systems through smart, sustainable engineering.
